XR Campaign “Warmland”
We set Miniatur Wunderland on fire! (And submerged it underwater.) A powerful climate protection message created together with Telekom, Grabarz & Partner, and Miniatur Wunderland. A state-of-the-art AR experience – straight to the heart.

The threat of climate change is well known – but hard to grasp emotionally.

An immersive augmented reality experience in Miniatur Wunderland that makes climate disasters like floods, droughts, and wildfires vividly tangible.

The goal of the experience in Wunderland was to vividly visualize the consequences of climate change, raising awareness and inspiring action. Telekom’s message is: Technology doesn’t just create problems – it can also provide solutions.

Story
The AR app is fully integrated into different “worlds” of the Wunderland. You look at the fragile, yet still intact world as if through a live TV broadcast – and can “switch” the same scene via AR – with +2 or +5 degrees of global warming. Suddenly, the forest in front of Neuschwanstein is ablaze or Venice is sinking in the floods. Always with the message: WE STILL can take action.
Tech
Using precise 3D scans, the miniature worlds were transformed into an interactive AR experience, setting a new technical visual standard for augmented reality. The extremely simple “one-button” UX was digitally adopted by the Wunderland itself. The application was seamlessly integrated into the Miniatur Wunderland exhibition experience.

The campaign generated enormous media attention and high emotional engagement from visitors. The partnership with Miniatur Wunderland allows for long-term placement of the topic. Additional scenarios and locations are conceivable – the format is scalable and modularly expandable.
