Mobile Game „NoShit! – Daily Microlearning as a Team-Challenge“

Challenge

Mandatory training sessions compete with the hectic pace of everyday (hospital) life, where every minute counts. But a lack of knowledge can endanger people’s lives! Goal: To impart more knowledge and foster team spirit!

Solution

The world’s fastest training program—in the form of a game! A mobile-optimized daily quiz that teaches you something new in 30 seconds. With team challenges and high scores, professional development becomes a fun part of your daily routine!

Business

No one can explain this aspect better than the two people in charge at Asklepios themselves:

"Traditional training formats quickly reach their limits in a hospital. This is especially true in places where everything has to happen quickly and knowledge is needed most urgently: in the emergency room and in the operating room. With “NoShit!,” we deliberately focus on playful, practical micro-learning modules. They’re so short that they actually fit into our employees’ stressful daily work routines."
Melanie Gehrigk, Head of the Education and Knowledge Management Division at Asklepios
"With “NoShit!”, we’re breaking new ground in helping to permanently embed core medical and nursing knowledge in people’s memories. This playful approach brings departments together as a team and ensures top-quality medical care precisely where time pressure is greatest."
PD Dr. med. Sara Sheikhzadeh, Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of the Asklepios Clinics Group

The best part: What was developed with and for Asklepios works just as well for other clinics or virtually any other company—after all, everyone is short on time. Everything is designed for quick adaptation and implementation!

Story

Of course, a Daily Quiz doesn’t have a traditional storyline—the point was more to break away from the countless “tried-and-true” mechanics of employee training and truly understand what people are like.

Training is no longer a daunting “task I have to do”—instead: You’re standing at the coffee machine or sitting in the restroom, you see the QR code or get a push notification, answer the question of the day in 30 seconds, earn points for the team, and move on.

Gone are the days of the dull seriousness and rigidity of traditional platforms. “NoShit!”—the name alone tells you right away what it’s all about. The style is colorful, youthful, and cool; it’s full of jokes, and the tone is neither corporate nor AI-like, but simply approachable and friendly! And in terms of content, it delivers technically precise, verified, and highly sophisticated information that has even earned the respect of hospital board members.

Sometimes the questions are about current events and refer to internal happenings; sometimes they’re just for fun—like guessing a chief physician’s handwriting—but most of the time they’re extremely challenging technical questions. Some topics come up again and again until they’re truly understood. And on the side, there are heated discussions about why that one team has overtaken us in the rankings yet again.

We claim that no other learning platform has ever placed as much emphasis on “joy of use,” gameplay, and motivation as NoShit! And that includes a whole host of technical tricks:

03

Tech

It’s no coincidence that NoShit! can be “played through” in just 30 seconds. There’s no login; instead, scores are saved anonymously in the background. Users don’t have to worry about anything except the question itself. It runs on their own smartphones (even on the oldest devices).

It was developed and is hosted in Germany, is GDPR-compliant, and answers can be easily linked to internal databases (if you want to learn more about a topic).

The most exciting thing, however, is how easily NoShit! and the GAME GRID platform can be scaled. Henning describes it this way:

"For us, this project represents another step in the expansion of our scalable product and platform business: We deliberately develop digitally sustainable SaaS solutions that are not intended as one-time communication initiatives, but rather evolve continuously and can be integrated into the existing communication and learning structures of companies and brands."

Curious?

The best part: NoShit! runs entirely on the Curious Company GameGrid.
This means NoShit! can be adapted for any company in just a few days: New questions, new topics, or even entirely new training modules can be added with minimal effort and rolled out to the team immediately.

And with its own analytics platform, “Curi.OS,” managers can see in real time how the platform is being used—from activations and play times to particularly challenging questions.
