AR app “VOLTRON chARge”
Help Nikola Tesla - and teleport a roller coaster into your living room!
Challenge
Europa-Park wanted to present its new (gigantic!) Nikola Tesla Coaster in an innovative way within its own app.
Solution:
We teleport Nikola Tesla’s entire experiment (a 2-meter-wide table!) from the coaster’s story (via AR) into our homes – helping the great inventor complete his work!

Business
Visitors to Europa-Park rightly expect constant innovation and surprises. We decided against a simple “View in AR Demo” in order to provide app users with a truly surprising new experience:
The first Europa-Park attraction that you can explore – complete with an immersive story – right in your own home.
Story
We developed a standalone spin-off based on the coaster’s story:
Nikola Tesla is on the verge of completing his experiment on the “energy journey” of humans – but he is being pursued. He must secure his experiment and teleports it to us.
The experiment must be completed! Users have to open valves, connect circuits, and flip switches under time pressure… all while hoping they succeed before Tesla’s pursuers catch him!
Tech
The teleportation of the over 2-meter-wide table is lovingly crafted down to the smallest detail and fully interactive. (Fun fact: Tesla’s notes are his actual handwriting.)
The UX truly gets users moving – they have to crouch, move from left to right, and stretch. They become real assistants to Nikola Tesla.
The messenger UI is entirely newly designed, referencing steampunk and the turn of the century – but it’s restrained enough to let users see as much of the experiment (the coaster) as possible.
The app is specifically developed and optimized for Apple and Android, perfectly integrated into the Europa-Park app and user flow.
What’s in it for me?
We can make even the most complex products and experiences immersive and interactive on-site (see VR Transporter link). From combine harvesters to plunge saws to prefabricated houses – we can imagine plenty of entertaining stories…
Immersive Storytelling in AR – in almost any scale
